CS - Company Secretary
CS is a professional course offered by ICSI (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India). A CS holds one of the principal posts in any company/organisation/sole proprietorship. A certified CS handles the legal aspects of an enterprise. They are responsible for maintaining and auditing, keeping records, filing, presenting, attesting, advising, as well as updating the Board of Directors regarding the financial health of the company and they also ensure that the company complies with legal, ethical and statutory regulations. They are a vital link between the company and its Board of Directors, Shareholders, and the Government and Regulatory authorities.
To be able to practice as a Professional CS,one has to undergo professional training as well as pass the examinations. The CS program by ICSI includes 3 levels:
